ADVANCED PHOTOGRAPHY 1
Requirements: Grades 11- 12 only, Application Required, Full Year Program
This class covers all aspects of the photographic world, from traditional black and white silver gelatin prints to digital masterpieces. Students will have the opportunity to express their creative abilities and explore the world of still images. Advanced Photography is designed for students to explore photography as an outlet for personal expression. Students will learn how to use a multitude of cameras, both digital and film. We will investigate many alternative processes that can create unique final prints. Students will use a Mac computer lab fully equipped with the Adobe Creative Suite for editing, manipulating and enhancing digital photographs. Students will begin to build their own professional photography portfolio in order to display their work. Students will learn the historical aspects of photography and gain an understanding of the photography industry. Articulation is available with Washtenaw Community College.

Requirements: Grade 12 only, Application Required, Full Year Program, Successful Completion of Advanced Photography 1
The Advanced Photography course is designed for students committed to gaining practical experience and mastering the concepts, composition, and execution of their ideas through photography. Over the year, students will explore various techniques to build a final portfolio for evaluation, demonstrating their skills and versatility in problem-solving and ideation. They will also create a body of work for the Concentration section, centered on a personally meaningful topic. Additionally, students will engage in month-long assignments to delve deeply into a single subject, resulting in a cohesive collection of images. The course culminates in a polished final portfolio, showcasing their best work for job applications, college admissions, and scholarship opportunities.
