andrea baker - Monclova, OH
Andrea retired from teaching Art in 2017, after a career spanning thirty-five years. Exhibiting & selling her own artwork is something she has always dreamed about having time to do. She loves the challenge of creating unique pieces of art through a series of steps: imagining and making patterns, cutting glass, grinding edges, fitting pieces, applying foil tape, soldering, and finally polishing & embellishing the finished piece.
-Vincent Van Gogh said, “Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.”
She has been creating artwork with stained glass since 2014. It didn’t take long to realize that stained glass is an equipment intensive craft needing tools & materials that take a commitment of time, money & workspace. Craft shows became a great way to fund this glass addiction and to also interact with customers and discover insights from other crafters. It is always rewarding to see repeat customers who are working on their stained glass collection.
Her booth, “Stained Glass Designs”, will offer a variety of ornaments, sun catchers, panels & sculptural stained glass plants. Some pieces are framed or include woodwork or welded metal created by her husband, Rick. If you are looking for a unique and beautiful hand-made gift for someone (or yourself), we look forward to seeing you in November!
