Attendance Policy

  • Excessive Absenteeism shall be referred to Probation/Case Worker Diversion, Consent & Chronic Absenteeism Prevention, Education & Permanency Team through Washtenaw County.
  • An absence occurs when a student arrives 15 minutes after the tardy bell or has missed more than 15 minutes of class.
  • A student who is absent without a pass, parent notification, or prior arranged school business is considered unexcused (coded as “U” in PowerSchool).
  • A student athlete is expected to attend classes at all times.  If a student athlete is not in class for three (3) full periods, then the student will NOT be allowed to practice or compete on that day. Note:  Exceptions to this rule may be approved by submitting a written request to the Athletic Director prior to the day missed.
  • Students are responsible for communicating with their teachers to coordinate missing work. If able, students should communicate before or during their absence.
