Saline High School provides a continuum of special education services to students on Individualized Education Plans (IEP's) in a variety of settings. A teacher consultant provides services and support in both general education and special education classrooms, and supports students with general education curriculum in Academic Support. Saline High School also uses a co teaching model where two teachers (gen ed and spec ed) are paired together to deliver and differentiate instruction in the core subjects, primarily in grades 9/10. Resource room teachers deliver core content, in a smaller setting, that meets Michigan Merit Curriculum standards (MMC). Resource room teachers and our Life Skills teachers also provide instruction in the areas of career/employment, post-secondary education/training, adult living, and community participation as required by IDEA and in partnership with families and community agencies. Students, on IEP's, have the opportunity to earn a high school diploma or a certificate of completion, as determined by the IEP team.
