School and Family Partnership Series
This new series of informational sessions is designed to bring Saline Area Schools and families together to achieve the best outcomes for students and children. All events are free and open to the public. Please RSVP here to attend one or all events.
- September 19, 2023: Safe and Secure Schools, a look into the systems in place designed to increase safety in our school buildings. Speakers: Curt Ellis, Carol Melcher, Jackelyn Martin, Jay Grossman, Rex Clary.
- October 11, 2023: Strategies for Supporting Student Wellness, focusing on the use of social media and digital devices. Guest speakers: Dr. Jenny Radesky and Robin Batten.
- Y5-3rd Grade: Healthy Relationships with Media
- 4th-12th Grade Resources:
- December 5, 2023: Strategies for Supporting Early Literacy. Speakers: Jenn Nelson and Caroline Stout.
- February 1, 2024: How to Raise an Adult. Join Saline Area Schools and special guest, New York Times bestselling author, Julie Lythcott-Haimes to learn tips on increasing agency and resilience in children and young adults. This session is made possible from the generous support of the Foundation for Saline Area Schools.
- April 30, 2024: Ready, Set, Summer Success! Parents and guardians are invited to join Saline Area Schools team members to prepare for a productive summer break! The session will be hosted at the Liberty School Board Room on Wednesday, April 30 from 6-8 p.m. Jenn Nelson, Literacy Coach & Instructional Designer, and Caroline Stout, MTSS Coordinator, will share strategies to improve literacy skills for students in grades K-5 from 6-7 p.m. Families of students in grades K-8 are invited to learn strategies to create consistency, set boundaries, and establish routines in order to support positive behavior from 7-8 p.m. This session will be led by Sharon Cho and Katie McGee, Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA). Families are welcome to attend one or both sessions. An RSVP is appreciated but not required.
